Farm of Shri Abhay Mutalik Desai
Sutakatti, Dist: Belgaum, Karnataka
- In 1999 there was an outbreak of nut infesting eriophyid mite in many plantations.
- This was the first time the infestion had been reported in any Asian country.
- It resulted in extremely small sized fruits and heavy crop losses due to immature nut fall.
- Shri Desai also started Agnihotra and Homa Therapy on his farm in 1999.
- Today he is one of the very few farmers with completely healthy coconuts.
- There is absolutely no trace of the nut infesting eriophyid mite.
